Status TrackingOVERVIEW
Fawtara is built on Peppol, and businesses do not connect to the network directly. Each business selects an accredited service provider through the Fawtara portal. That provider validates your invoices, delivers them to your buyer's provider and reports the tax data to the Oman Tax Authority (OTA). Invoices from your own suppliers reach you the same way.
Webtel manages this integration for you. We connect your ERP to your chosen service provider, handle your registration on the network, and track every invoice from submission to delivery and reporting — so your finance team sees a clear status for each document instead of a technical message log.
CAPABILITIES
Your ERP is linked to an accredited Fawtara service provider, with endpoints and credentials managed for you.
Business invoices are delivered to buyers over Peppol as they are issued.
Tax data for consumer sales is reported to the OTA within the 24-hour window.
Supplier invoices arrive in your system, and any rejection is flagged with its reason.
HOW IT WORKS
We help you select an accredited service provider on the Fawtara portal.
Your business is registered on the network and your ERP connected.
Invoices are exchanged over Peppol and tax data reported to the OTA.
Every message is tracked, and issues are surfaced for quick correction.
B2B AND B2C
Fawtara treats business and consumer sales differently. Both are handled through the same connection to your service provider.
Tax invoices are exchanged electronically between the supplier's and buyer's service providers over Peppol in real time. Only invoices exchanged this way are valid for in-scope B2B transactions.
Your customer receives a readable invoice with a QR code at the point of sale, and the invoice's tax data is reported to the OTA through your service provider within 24 hours.
WHY IT MATTERS
We handle the connection to your service provider.
Plan your setup around your OTA notification date.
See which invoices were delivered, reported or rejected.
Validation catches issues before an invoice is sent.
Send and receive e-invoices through one connection.
Every message and status is logged for audits.
FAQS
Accredited providers are selected through the Fawtara portal run by the OTA. We help you compare options and connect your systems to the provider you choose.
A pilot group of around 100 large taxpayers starts from August 2026, followed by other large taxpayers and then the remaining VAT-registered businesses. The OTA notifies each group of its date.
No. Fawtara uses a Peppol exchange-and-report model rather than tax-authority clearance, so the OTA does not stamp invoices or issue clearance numbers.
